Milton Keynes, 20 August 2026
The Dutchman Max Verstappen has extended his contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of the 2030 season, thereby committing himself long-term to the team from Milton Keynes.
Verstappen, who has already won several world championship titles with the team, reached an agreement with the squad on an early extension of the existing arrangement. This brings the public debate that has been conducted for months about the sporting future of the driver to a preliminary end. The new contract runs over several seasons and gives Red Bull clarity in its medium-term planning regarding the driver pairing at the top.
In a statement, Verstappen described the step as personally significant. „Diese Reise mit demselben Team fortzusetzen, bei dem ich meine gesamte Karriere verbracht habe, ist etwas ganz Besonderes und etwas, das ich mir schon immer gewünscht habe“, said the Dutchman. The words underline the deep bond between driver and racing team that has existed since Verstappen's debut in the premier class.
