The Ice Hockey World Championship has reached its semifinal stage, with Canada, Finland, Norway, and Switzerland emerging as the top four teams after the quarterfinals.
The Canada vs. USA quarterfinal was a rematch of the Olympic final in Milan, which the USA won 2-1 in overtime 95 days earlier.
Canada's Macklin Celebrini scored in the 19th minute, followed by goals from Dylan Holloway, Connor Brown, and Sidney Crosby, securing a 4-0 win for Canada.
In another quarterfinal match, Switzerland defeated Sweden 3-1, with Roman Josi scoring the equalizer in the 14th minute and Denis Malgin and Calvin Thürkauf adding to the lead.
Norway reached the semifinal of the Ice Hockey World Championship for the first time in its history, defeating Latvia 2-0 in Fribourg, Switzerland.
