Berlin, July 24, 2026

A poll conducted by the opinion research institute Insa on behalf of the news portal "Nius" sees the AfD at the top in Berlin for the first time, while the election for the House of Representatives is scheduled for September 20.

First time at the top

If the election were held next Sunday, the AfD would reach 19 percent according to the Insa poll conducted on behalf of the news portal "Nius." Just under two months before the Berlin House of Representatives election, the AfD is ahead for the first time in a representative poll. The CDU and the Left land equally strong just behind in second place.

The Greens reach 16 percent according to the poll. A further 8 percent goes to other parties, according to the survey. The Insa poll was conducted online between July 14 and 21 among 1,000 Berliners; the margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. The survey thus has a comparatively large degree of imprecision, which limits the interpretation of the gaps between the parties.
