Suspect's Modus Operandi

According to the police, the investigations have been underway "for some time." They did not wish to provide further details on the case on Sunday for the time being. Currently, eight victims are known, but the evaluation of the secured material could increase that number.

Under a pretext, the doctor is said to have induced the mostly young patients to undress. According to the report, he would then have carried out the treatment in a gynecological chair rather than on an examination table, whereby these examinations would also be questionable in terms of necessity. The medical practitioner is said to have even partially sedated the women, sexually assaulted them on a gynecological chair, and recorded this.

Defense and Professional Consequences

The women are said to have been treated outside of regular practice hours, when no receptionist was present. These off-peak times are said to have enabled the accused to carry out the acts unnoticed over the years.

During his interrogation, he defended himself by claiming that his actions were medically indicated and that the film recordings had been agreed upon. According to "Krone," the suspect is no longer permitted to practice his profession. It initially remained unclear on what legal basis the professional activity ban was imposed.

Open Questions and Outlook

The authorities face the difficult task of assigning the recordings, some of which are years old, to individual victims. Many of the photos and videos are said to have not yet been able to be assigned. This could lead to the identification of further aggrieved persons who have not come forward so far.

The case throws a spotlight on the control mechanisms in private medical practices. Since the incidents are said to have taken place outside of regular practice hours and the examinations appear medically questionable, the question arises as to how such acts could remain undetected over such a long period of time.
