A Flydubai flight bound for Israel was diverted after the pilot broadcast an emergency signal, and the pilot is now being questioned by investigators, sources told CNN.

According to multiple sources cited by CNN, the Flydubai aircraft was en route to Tel Aviv when the pilot transmitted an emergency signal, prompting air traffic authorities to divert the flight. The crew landed without reported injuries to passengers or ground personnel, and Flydubai has cooperated with the subsequent investigation, according to the same sources.

The pilot has been identified in published reports as Smit Machchhar, an aviator employed by Flydubai.
