Following the publication of an Iranian retaliation list that also includes Chancellor Friedrich Merz, German security politicians have warned of possible attacks by Iranian networks in Germany.

The Iranian daily newspaper "Hamshahri" had published a list over the weekend with 13 Western politicians against whom revenge would be taken for the death of the former spiritual leader Khamenei. According to Deutschlandfunk, Chancellor Merz is also among those named. The publication is being assessed in Berlin as a serious security policy signal and has triggered a debate about the threat situation at home.

The CDU security politician Kiesewetter told the "Handelsblatt" that he assumes the terror regime has been planning and preparing targeted killings and terrorist attacks in the West and also in Germany for some time.
