Following Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, Iran's chief negotiator Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf has labeled talks with the US as pointless and hinted at retaliation against Israel.
The Israeli army attacked the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital once again on Sunday, including the Ghobeiry neighborhood. According to Lebanon's civil defense authority, at least three people were killed and six others wounded; bodies were recovered from the rubble. The official Lebanese news agency NNA reported that the strikes hit more than a dozen locations in the south of the country.
The army had previously ordered the population of 29 localities in the south to leave their homes. Israel stated it had "precisely struck" an infrastructure facility in Dahieh. AFP reporters in Beirut reported several explosions in the southern suburbs, which are considered a stronghold of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia.
