Gaza City, July 18, 2026

Israeli airstrikes on the Nasr and Zeitoun neighborhoods of Gaza City killed at least nine people and wounded several others on July 18, 2026, while a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that has been in effect since October continues to remain fragile.

Situation in the Affected Neighborhoods

In the Nasr neighborhood, at least five people were killed, according to Al-Shifa Hospital. Six people were reportedly injured. In another strike in the Zeitoun neighborhood, four people were killed, a health worker said. This brings the death toll from the two reported strikes to at least nine.

The Israeli military said with regard to both strikes that members of the Hamas terrorist organization and its infrastructure had been targeted. It said it was reviewing the reports. The Israeli army initially did not comment on the civilian casualty figures cited by Palestinian medical sources.
