The majority owner and patron of the logistics group Kühne + Nagel, Klaus-Michael Kühne, has died.
The logistics group Kühne + Nagel has confirmed the death of its patron Klaus-Michael Kühne. "The logistics group has confirmed the death of the patron," the company said in a statement. According to company circles, the entrepreneur died at the age of 88.
Klaus-Michael Kühne was considered one of the richest Germans and was for decades one of the defining figures in the international logistics industry. The company Kühne + Nagel, founded by his grandfather in Bremen in 1890, developed under his influence into one of the world's largest providers of freight forwarding and contract logistics, headquartered in Schindellegi in Switzerland with its operational headquarters in Hamburg.
