The Crime and Its Aftermath

The court also ordered the two defendants, now aged 15 and 16, to cover funeral costs of approximately €15,000 and the plaintiffs' legal fees. The judgment is not yet legally binding.

Luise's body was found in a forest on the border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate one day after she went missing. Two girls, then aged 12 and 13, confessed to killing her.
