The German tennis doubles team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz reached the semifinals at Wimbledon on Wednesday and will face Mate Pavić and Marcelo Arévalo there on Thursday.

In the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournament in London, the seventh-seeded Krawietz and Pütz prevailed over the French duo Fabien Reboul and Sadio Doumbia 7-5, 7-6 (8-6). For the German team, which had already reached the Wimbledon semifinals in 2023, this marks their second semifinal appearance at the grass-court classic. The tournament is being held in London.

Match against France

The match lasted two sets, with the second set only being decided in a tiebreak. The Germans went through a tricky phase in the process: Tim Pütz, who hails from Frankfurt am Main, served two consecutive double faults in the tiebreak, handing the French pairing two set points. Krawietz and Pütz, however, saved both set points and ultimately converted their first match point.
