Linz, 14 August 2026

LASK won the Upper Austrian derby against SV Oberbank Ried 5:1 on Friday evening, securing a clear home victory in the Bundesliga.

An entertaining contest developed right from the opening stages, with both teams playing on the front foot. The visitors from Ried, who started the match with Leitner in goal as well as Malicsek, Radonjic, Schwab, Chukwudi, Maart, Sorg, Steurer, Aisowieren, Sissoko and Bajic, initially held their own.

However, it was Ried who took the lead through an attacking move, giving LASK a surprising deficit. The Linz side were not unsettled by this, however, and pushed hard for the equaliser.

Match flow and turning point

As the game wore on, LASK took control of proceedings. The team from Linz repeatedly worked dangerous combinations in front of Ried keeper Leitner's goal, forcing the equaliser. As the match progressed, the hosts fully turned the game around and themselves went in front.
