The Swiss chocolate manufacturer Lindt & Sprüngli has significantly lowered its sales forecast for the current fiscal year and cited the heat in Europe as a substantial reason.
The group announced that it now expects only zero to two percent organic sales growth for 2026. The company had previously projected growth of four to six percent. The correction marks a noticeable cut in the growth expectations of the premium chocolate manufacturer.
As the main cause, the company cited the unusually high temperatures, which had weighed on chocolate product sales in several European markets. According to management, consumers reach for chocolate less frequently during intense heat, which is reflected in the sales figures.
