Linstow, June 06, 2026
The CDU Mecklenburg-Vorpommern continued its state party conference on Saturday at the Van der Valk Resort in Linstow near Rostock, where state chairman Daniel Peters is expected to be re-elected unopposed and Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz is scheduled to give a speech to the delegates later in the day.
According to the CDU state executive office, the second day of the conference began with regular board elections. Daniel Peters, who already leads the state party, is considered the sole candidate for the chairmanship. In an Infratest-dimap poll for the state election in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the CDU recently scored ten percent – a historic low for the state party. The 2021 election result was already the CDU's worst performance in the state ever.
