Chancellor Friedrich Merz said at a cabinet retreat on Monday that the federal government would present findings in the near term on the drone incident that disrupted operations at Leipzig airport, while stressing that any response would follow a formal attribution.
Speaking to journalists on the margins of a closed cabinet meeting in Berlin, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the government would set out the results of its investigation "in the near future" and warned against premature conclusions about responsibility for the drone incident at Leipzig airport. Merz said the relevant question was the official attribution that the federal government would issue after weighing all investigative findings.
