The British government has accused US Vice President JD Vance of interfering in the United Kingdom's affairs and inciting tensions following the murder of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak in Southampton.

The 18-year-old Henry Nowak was killed in Southampton, southern England, in December last year by a 23-year-old. As the trial revealed, the student had previously been severely injured with a knife. Shortly thereafter, he died lying on the ground after repeatedly calling out "I can't breathe." A video that became public during the proceedings also shows police officers handcuffing the severely injured 18-year-old instead of helping him.

On Monday, 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa was convicted of Nowak's murder and sentenced to a minimum of 21 years in prison. According to the facts, the perpetrator belongs to the Sikh minority. The case had triggered a broad debate in Great Britain in recent days about unequal treatment and racism. Riots also broke out at a protest in Southampton on Tuesday.
