German national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann responded ahead of the World Cup opening match against Curaçao in Houston to a "yet" comment from TV expert Jürgen Klopp and declined to make a public statement about his future.

At the press conference before Germany's first group match, the focus was less on opponents Curaçao and more on a remark from Jürgen Klopp. The former Liverpool coach, who was working as a TV expert for MagentaTV alongside Thomas Müller on Thursday, said during the discussion about Germany's lineup: "Zum Glück stellt Julian Nagelsmann die Mannschaft auf" and added the word "yet" (noch). With this addition, Klopp indirectly questioned whether Nagelsmann would still be in charge of the DFB team in September — even though his contract runs until after Euro 2028.
