Nestlé wants to develop new foods using artificial intelligence and sees a billion-dollar business in the growing market for weight-loss injections, as technology chief Stefan Palzer outlined.

AI as the engine of product development

Nestlé is increasingly relying on artificial intelligence in the development of new products. According to the company, internal systems such as the "Food Genie" platform are used to analyze vast amounts of data from clinical studies. The goal is to identify nutrient combinations and accelerate recipe development from a database of around 120,000 templates, explained technology chief Stefan Palzer.

Palzer sees a billion-dollar business in the booming market for weight-loss injections. He pointed to the rapidly growing demand for GLP-1-based preparations, which are manufactured by companies including Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. "The number of people using such products is rising rapidly – and the potential for us to offer accompanying nutritional solutions is correspondingly large," Palzer said, according to news agency reports.
