On Thursday evening, a drone crashed into a residential building in the Romanian border city of Galați, injuring a 14-year-old boy and a 53-year-old woman.
Romanian President Nicușor Dan stated on Saturday on the platform X that the drone was a Russian model of the Geran-2 type. This was the "unequivocal conclusion" of the expert report from Bucharest.
The comprehensive technical investigation proves Moscow's "sole responsibility" for the incident, Dan continued. Romania therefore held Russia fully liable for the attack.
Technical Evidence and Reactions
The Geran-2 is the Russian version of the Shahed drone developed in Iran. The wreckage showed Cyrillic inscriptions and technical similarities to other drones that had previously fallen on Romanian territory.
