Norbert Hofer, a candidate for federal president, is retaining his seat in the state parliament following the revocation of his driver's license. The SPÖ had called for his resignation on Sunday; Hofer, however, declared that he is staying in office. He is refusing to step down.
The federal presidential candidate Norbert Hofer is remaining a member of the state parliament after the revocation of his driver's license and is rejecting the resignation demand raised by the SPÖ.
Norbert Hofer, a candidate for the office of federal president, has responded to the revocation of his driver's license and declared that he intends to hold on to his state parliament mandate. In a statement, he said: „Ich bleibe Landtagsabgeordneter." In doing so, he is positioning himself against the demand of the federal SPÖ, which had already called for his resignation on Sunday.
