Helsinki, July 16, 2026

The Scandinavian major bank Nordea achieved operating profit of just over 1.6 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026, slightly above the prior-year figure.

As the Helsinki-based institution announced on Thursday, the results were largely in line with the expectations of the analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. Nordea is one of the leading banks in Northern Europe and was formed through the merger of several financial institutions from Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. The bank, which is listed in the EuroStoxx 50, also reported rising revenues.

Revenues at the EuroStoxx 50-listed bank rose by 4 percent to approximately 3 billion euros. The institution attributed the increase, among other factors, to rising fee and commission income. The Scandinavian bank Nordea also benefited in the second quarter from rising commission income thanks to strong business in wealth management.
