In the second quarter of 2026, 1,668 corporate insolvencies were reported in Austria, corresponding to a decline of 3 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year and 4.1 percent compared to the first quarter of 2026.
The decline in corporate bankruptcies was published on Thursday in a summary of economic data. According to this, the number of insolvency filings in the second quarter of 2026 decreased both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter.
At 1,668 registered corporate insolvencies, the figure is below the level of the preceding comparison periods. The data was confirmed by two independent sources.
