The two Austrian internationals Florian Grillitsch and Romano Schmid are on the verge of a move to Italian top-flight newcomers Frosinone Calcio, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
According to the report, both players are in advanced talks with the club from the central Italian province of Lazio, which has just sealed promotion to Serie A. Frosinone Calcio, a frequent visitor to Italy's top tier in recent years, is specifically looking to strengthen its midfield for the coming season – and appears to have found what it's looking for in the two Austrians.
Florian Grillitsch, recently established as an experienced No. 8 in the ÖFB team, is reportedly set to take on a central role in Frosinone's playing system. The 30-year-old brings international experience from the German Bundesliga and the Dutch Eredivisie. A potential move would represent a career step for the midfield engine back into one of Europe's top five leagues.
