The ORF Editorial Board has warned in a recent statement about a potential loss of trust due to controversial documentaries aired on ORF III.
Criticism of Documentaries
The Editorial Board sharply criticized the broadcast of certain productions, such as "100 Years of ÖBB" or "Made in Austria: Boundlessly Successful," on ORF III. These allegedly fail to comply with regulatory standards and contradict quality journalism. "There must not even be the impression that reporting on ORF is for sale," the statement reads.
While acknowledging the need for cost-saving measures, the board stated that "individuals are gambling with the credibility of the entire organization." It emphasized: "ORF editorial teams—including those of ORF III—operate independently in their journalistic reporting. Any form of interference in editorial work is unacceptable, and violations must be penalized."
