Prince Harry traveled to London for a visit, but did not, as originally planned, stay overnight in a Buckingham Palace residence because the palace withdrew what appears to have been an already accepted accommodation offer at the last minute.

As several British media outlets and the Deutsche Presse-Agentur report, the 41-year-old had wanted to stay in a royal residence during his visit. Buckingham Palace had offered him corresponding accommodation, but then apparently withdrew the offer again. The BBC and dpa picked up the report over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Harry described the process, according to the BBC, as "enttäuschend" (disappointing). It was "unklar, warum das Unterkunftsangebot, nachdem es formell angenommen worden war, nun im letzten Moment zurückgezogen wurde" ("unclear why the accommodation offer, after it had been formally accepted, was now withdrawn at the last moment"), the spokesperson claimed, according to the reports.
