Bolzano, 24 July 2026
Following the partial collapse of the Bolzano courthouse early on Thursday, the South Tyrolean judiciary is searching for alternative spaces, while the province, as the owner, plans to erect a support scaffolding on the damaged structure next week.
Chronology of the Collapse
At least a quarter of the courthouse in Bolzano suddenly caved in early on Thursday shortly after 6:20 a.m. According to available information, one person was slightly injured. The building, which was constructed between 1939 and 1956 and was part of the fascist regime's development plans for the city of Bolzano, had not yet seen large gatherings of people at that time, as the early shift had only just begun.
