Berlin, July 8, 2026

The Federal Police Commissioner, Uli Grötsch (SPD), presented his third activity report on Wednesday for the period from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 as Bundestag printed paper 21/6850, in which he records a 58 percent increase in complaints to a total of 421 submissions.

During the reporting period, the Police Commissioner received 421 complaints, compared to 267 in the previous period. Of these, 323 submissions came from citizens – an increase of more than 70 percent – and 98 from employees of the Federal Police, the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and the Police of the German Bundestag, which represents an increase of around 25 percent. Grötsch spoke of an "enormous increase" and said: "We are proud of that. It shows me that the office is continuing to establish itself."
