Associated Newspapers is seeking millions of pounds in legal costs from Prince Harry and several co-plaintiffs following the collapse of their privacy lawsuit against the publisher of UK tabloid titles, with a London court now weighing the costs claim.
Prince Harry and a group of well-known plaintiffs, including the singer Elton John, are facing a potentially seven-figure costs bill after Associated Newspapers (ANL) sought to recover its legal expenses from their failed privacy action. The publisher filed the costs application in the High Court in London, arguing that the claimants should bear the financial burden of the trial they lost.
