Prince Harry and six other prominent plaintiffs suffered defeat on Tuesday in their damages lawsuit against the publisher of the «Daily Mail» and the «Mail on Sunday» at the High Court in London.

A judge at the London High Court dismissed the claim in a written ruling spanning 436 pages. In it, he explained that the plaintiffs had not been able to sufficiently prove the allegations of unlawful information-gathering – including alleged phone hacking and the use of private investigators. The action targeted around 50 articles in the «Daily Mail» and the «Mail on Sunday», in which, according to the plaintiffs, unauthorized methods of information-gathering had allegedly been used.
