Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to China shortly for high-level talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, continuing their frequent diplomatic engagements.
The visit comes just days after U.S. President Donald Trump's trip to China, highlighting Beijing's growing role as a hub for global diplomacy.
Putin and Xi are expected to sign approximately 40 documents during the meetings, according to official statements from Moscow.
A key focus will be energy cooperation, with discussions planned about the 'Power of Siberia 2' pipeline project that would significantly increase Russian gas exports to China.
Russia's gas deliveries to China already grew by 35% in the first quarter of 2026, reaching 31 million tons, Putin's foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov stated.
