Gilching, July 2, 2026
The drone manufacturer Quantum Systems on Wednesday closed a Series D financing round of 1.2 billion US dollars and, according to the board, is valued at around eight billion dollars.
Founded in 2015 in Gilching near Munich, Quantum Systems is now among the best-capitalized European defense-technology start-ups. The post-money valuation of around 8 billion US dollars represents more than a doubling compared to the previous round; at the end of 2025, following a 180-million-euro round, the company was still valued at roughly three billion euros.
The round is led jointly by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus, and Advent. Additional investors include BOND, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Wellington Management, A.P. Moller Holding, and Elephant Lake Ventures. Existing backers such as Balderton and HV Capital are also participating again. Morgan Stanley acted as exclusive financial advisor and placement agent for the transaction.
