St. Pölten, 21 August 2026
The Frequency Festival opened its gates on 20 August 2026 in St. Pölten in the rain, but according to the organizers, the weather barely dampened the mood among the visitors.
The grounds along the Traisen began filling up in the afternoon, even though the sky over St. Pölten was overcast and it rained intermittently. The organizers were satisfied with the opening. The turnout had been large despite the weather, the festival management said. Umbrellas, ponchos, and rubber boots were a familiar sight in many places.
The stage featured a packed program on opening day with several well-known acts. Lovehead kicked things off at 1:25 p.m., followed by, among others, DJ Antoine, Ravyn Lenae, SDP, and Cascada. In the evening, Fontaines D.C., Camo & Krooked, Lorde, and Kraftklub performed. For visitors, the mix of pop, hip-hop, indie, and electronic music was one of the reasons they braved the weather.
