Police also summarized the substance of the weekend: "Es hat weder Unfälle mit Personenschaden noch sonstige Vorfälle gegeben". Major security issues were thus avoided. Only "kleinere Körperverletzungen und einige Diebstähle" were registered from a police perspective. Overall, the officers drew a very positive balance of the major motorsport event.

Cobra Unit Secures Against Drone Flights

The Cobra unit was deployed for aerial security, safeguarding the grounds against unauthorized drone flights. Yorgun explained: "Es hat 20 Drohnendetektionen gegeben, also private Drohnenflüge, die nicht erlaubt waren. Das wurde angezeigt und es wurden mehrere 1.000 Euro an Sicherheitsleistungen eingehoben". Those affected were required to deposit security payments amounting to several thousand euros before they were allowed to leave the grounds.

In the meantime, a dedicated pyrotechnics unit was deployed at the campsites around the Red Bull Ring to detect and defuse potential hazards from fireworks and Bengal flares early on.

Not only the Styrian police but also numerous other emergency organizations worked hand in hand on security and catering for the masses of camping fans. The large-scale deployment reflected the significance of the race for the entire region.

Prominent Guests from Sport and Politics

On the track, George Russell secured pole position ahead of the two Ferrari drivers. Voices from the Formula 1 world came from, among others, Toto Wolff, who said regarding the recent speculation about Max Verstappen: "Wäre falsch, etwas zu ändern". The supporting races rounded out the weekend's program — Marc Marquez meanwhile celebrated another victory in Brno in MotoGP as part of his championship comeback.

Among the visitors on Sunday were numerous prominent guests from sport, politics, and showbusiness. Present were, among others, ski stars Marcel Hirscher and Dominik Paris, snowboard Olympic champion Anna Gasser, Nordic combined athlete Johannes Lamparter, surfer Robby Naish, and singer Victoria Swarovski. Before the start of the premier class, the national anthem was sung by Jonas Kaufmann. Politically, State Secretary Michaela Schmidt of the SPÖ as well as the Styrian Governor Mario Kunasek of the FPÖ were on site as spectators.

From a motorsport perspective, the weekend also generated plenty of talking points beyond the premier class. The organizers announced that there will be no Jännerrallye in 2027 — a step that attracted attention in the domestic rally scene.
