A regional train carrying about 180 passengers derailed in the evening on the line between Rouen and Caen in the northwestern French département of Seine-Maritime, with more than 40 people injured according to the prefecture.

The accident involved a regional train that crashed late in the evening on a line between Rouen and Caen. According to initial findings, part of the train derailed while it was travelling on schedule between the two cities in northwestern France. According to the authorities, around 180 passengers were on board and had to be evacuated and cared for at the time of the incident.
According to the prefecture of Seine-Maritime, more than 40 people were injured, several of them seriously. Rescue workers and firefighters were deployed to recover the injured and transport them to nearby hospitals.
