Federal Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger (CDU) reportedly had several speeches and guest contributions for major newspapers drafted with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), without disclosing this to the editorial offices, according to a media report.
What Die Zeit Reports
According to a report by the weekly newspaper Die Zeit, Wildberger apparently had not only texts but also speeches before the Bundestag and before the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C. in July 2024 largely drafted by an AI such as ChatGPT. The detection software Pangram determined with high probability that 99.3 percent of a guest contribution in the Handelsblatt from April 2026 originated from an AI. A contribution in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (FAS) from March was, according to the report, also predominantly AI-generated.
