Russian hackers have stolen the login credentials of British government officials and gained access to their email accounts, with the stolen data being offered on dark-web forums, according to a media report.

According to Britain's "Telegraph" today, attackers using a method known as "FortiBleed" have systematically harvested credentials from British authorities. Email addresses and the corresponding passwords were stolen. The attack, which was still ongoing on Sunday evening, is known as "FortiBleed."

The attack reportedly involved email addresses and the corresponding passwords. According to Britain's "Telegraph," the attackers exploited a vulnerability in the security system and used previously stolen data to bypass barriers designed to protect critical infrastructure. In this way, they gained access to accounts of employees of the Foreign Office abroad as well as of local authority officials across Great Britain.
