Augsburg, 12 June 2026

Ricarda Funk has won the Canoe Slalom World Cup on the Augsburg Eiskanal, delivering a clean final run in front of a home crowd.

The 34-year-old canoeist, who competes for KSV Bad Kreuznach and lives and trains in Augsburg, prevailed in the kayak final ahead of France's Camille Prigent in second and Poland's Klaudia Zwolinska in third. Germany's Emily Apel rounded out the strong home result with fifth place. Funk delivered an almost perfect run in the final without any penalty seconds, securing her victory at the home World Cup.

The early exit of Jessica Fox came as a surprise. The Australian, who had dominated the World Cup race in Prague the previous week, was eliminated in Augsburg after the heats. Two mistakes pushed her far back, leaving the three-time Olympic champion in only 16th place. Fox, widely regarded as an exceptional canoeist, missed the final by a wide margin.
