Two people were killed in a Russian drone attack on a passenger train in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the drone pilot must have known it was a civilian train. In a statement, Zelensky called for more international pressure on Russia in light of attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine. The information on casualties and background is based on four sources reporting the incident in unison.
The attack was carried out with a drone and, according to reports from Kyiv, targeted a moving passenger train. Such attacks on civilian transport infrastructure are part of a Russian campaign that has continued for years, with repeated drone strikes on Ukrainian cities and transport routes. Just in recent weeks, attacks on Odesa and the port town of Izmail had caused a stir.
