Villasimius, 11 June 2026
At Punta Molentis beach in southeast Sardinia, the municipality of Villasimius has banned parasols, pavilions, and tents for visitors aged between 10 and 65 and has simultaneously introduced an entry fee of 10 euros per person.
Background to the ordinance
Since 6 June, new, strict requirements have been in place at Punta Molentis beach for the current summer season. In an ordinance, the municipality of Villasimius has stipulated that only children up to 10 years of age and people aged 65 and over may set up a parasol. What is permitted is therefore "un ombrellone per nucleo familiare con bambini fino a 10 anni o anziani oltre i 65 anni".
