Jesolo, June 16, 2026

Along Italy's beaches, significantly tightened rules are taking effect for summer 2026: in the Adriatic resort of Jesolo, around 20,000 lounger spots are being removed, and at the Sardinian beach of Punta Molentis, holidaymakers may now only set up their own umbrellas under specific conditions.

Less Space on the Adriatic

In the popular holiday resort of Jesolo, the focus is shifting toward larger open spaces between lounging areas. According to media reports, the new rules will simultaneously eliminate around 20,000 lounger spots along the local coast. The municipality is also introducing so-called "Red Zones," where certain restrictions apply.
