Dresden, July 8, 2026
The Free State of Saxony put a secondary migration center with 400 places into operation in Dresden on July 1 in order to swiftly implement the rules of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS), which have been in force since mid-June.
The facility at the site of the previous State Departure Center is aimed at people whose asylum procedure is the responsibility of another EU member state or who have already been recognized as persons entitled to protection in another member state. According to the State Directorate of Saxony, day rooms, communal rooms for language and school lessons, childcare as well as play and sports areas are available. Both individuals and families can be accommodated.
