A severe thunderstorm swept across Zurich on Tuesday evening, interrupting a concert by the US rock band Linkin Park at the Letzigrund stadium and hampering road, rail, and air traffic in several cantons.
As the federal government announced, danger level 4 was in effect for the storm. This means that severe damage and a high risk to life, limb, or property are expected. Hailstones lashed against window panes, and numerous streets in Zurich were transformed into small rivers in no time. In other parts of Switzerland, it also rained heavily in places.
Concert break at the Letzigrund
The American rock band Linkin Park, who were on stage at the Letzigrund stadium on Tuesday evening, were forced to interrupt their concert. Band member Mike Shinoda cited safety concerns as the reason for the pause. Due to heavy rain, a concert by the rock band Linkin Park at the Letzigrund stadium in Zurich was temporarily interrupted. After a break of about 30 minutes, the musicians returned to the stage and continued playing.
