Erfurt, 09 July 2026

After months of negotiations before a conciliation board, the works council and the company have signed a multi-million-euro social plan for the approximately 2,100 employees of the Zalando logistics center in Erfurt; however, a transfer company to support employees in changing jobs will not be established.

The outcome was "economically acceptable," the works council stated after the lengthy talks in the conciliation board. At the same time, the works council and the company announced that negotiations on a reconciliation of interests for the 2,100 employees had failed. As the works council and company communicated, this was decided by the conciliation board after months of negotiations.

Zalando only moved to agree to the social plan through the conciliation board's ruling and did not put forward sufficient voluntary offers, the works council criticized, calling the management's behavior "shameful." According to the works council, Zalando rejected additional funding.
