CSU leader Markus Söder has opposed efforts to vote out Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) with votes from the AfD and BSW, warning that such an alliance would be historically unprecedented.
CSU leader Markus Söder has spoken out in clear terms against attempts to oust Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) through a majority composed of the AfD and BSW. In a statement, Söder described such a plan as unacceptable and warned of the consequences for the country's political stability.
By doing so, he drew an explicit red line and clearly ruled out any possible cooperation.
