Before the Wimbledon final against Jannik Sinner on Sunday at 5:00 PM, Alexander Zverev is unreachable for his partner Sophia Thomalla because he completely switches off his mobile phone during the Grand Slam tournament.
During the two-week Grand Slam tournament at Wimbledon, Alexander Zverev keeps his mobile phone switched off continuously. According to reports, this rule applies without exception – including for calls or messages from his partner Sophia Thomalla. „Vor dem Wimbledon-Finale ist er auch für Sophia Thomalla nicht erreichbar", it is said.
Thomalla herself was not present in the stadium in London on the day of the final. As reported, she had to work and therefore could not follow the match on site. In the event of a victory, however, she planned to take a later flight to the victory party.
Zverev's tournament routine: Radio silence to the outside world
Zverev had fought his way through the tournament and was in the final against world number two Jannik Sinner on Sunday at 5:00 PM. It was his second consecutive Grand Slam final, after having previously won the French Open. In head-to-head matchups with Sinner, however, Zverev had most recently gone nine times in a row without a win.
