The SpaceX IPO in New York has lifted Elon Musk's fortune to nearly 1.05 trillion US dollars according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index – making him likely the world's first trillionaire.

The SpaceX share launched in New York on Friday at a price of 150 US dollars, eleven percent above the issue price. The space company, formally registered as Space Exploration Technologies Corp., reached a valuation of around two trillion US dollars at its market entry, making it one of the most valuable listed companies in the world. With the IPO, "the value of Musk's stake will nearly double and his fortune will be catapulted past the trillion-dollar mark," according to the figures.
