Spain's national police have arrested 'Ndrangheta boss Domenico Paviglianiti, known as "Don Mico," in Soria, around 200 kilometers northeast of Madrid. A European arrest warrant has been outstanding against him since July 2022.

According to the Italian public prosecutor's office in Reggio Calabria, the man taken into custody is Domenico Paviglianiti, known as "Don Mico." Spanish police had initially identified him only with the initials DP. As the national police ("Policía Nacional") announced on the platform X, the man is considered the head of a clan of the powerful criminal organization 'Ndrangheta, which is based in Calabria in southern Italy.
The arrest took place in the municipality of Soria, which has around 40,000 inhabitants and suffers particularly from the emigration of young people. In a video released by the "Policía Nacional," the man can be seen being led into a transport vehicle with his hands tied behind his back. According to the newspaper "El Mundo," "Don Mico" had been living an inconspicuous life there in recent years.
