Frankfurt, 30 June 2026

In the night leading into Tuesday, people in Germany and many other regions were able to observe the so-called Strawberry Moon, a full moon in June that hung low in the sky and glowed a strikingly orange-red.

The June full moon, popularly known as the Strawberry Moon, reached its peak in the early morning hours of Tuesday. According to meteorologists, in clear conditions it had already risen on the eastern horizon late the previous evening and traveled high across the sky into the second half of the night. In many parts of Germany, including over Frankfurt, the sky remained largely free of clouds, making the spectacle easy to see.
