Switzerland's real gross domestic product rose by 1.5 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the previous quarter, seasonally adjusted, according to a first estimate by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco).
The Swiss economy recorded significant growth in the second quarter of 2026. According to the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco), real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.5 percent compared to the first quarter, seasonally and calendar-adjusted. It is an initial estimate that Seco published on Thursday morning.
The increase comes against an international backdrop in which economic momentum remains subdued in many European countries. Compared with the eurozone, which grew only moderately in the same period according to earlier data, Switzerland is therefore performing above average. An official comparable quarterly figure for the currency area was not yet widely available on the reporting day.
