Switzerland defeated Sweden 3-1 in the quarterfinal of the men's Ice Hockey World Championship in Zurich, marking the country's first win over Sweden in a knockout phase at an Olympic or World Championship tournament.

The Swiss team, led by Roman Josi, played a strong game, with Josi involved in all three Swiss goals.

Sweden, on the other hand, struggled to find its rhythm, with only ten of 103 available NHL players participating in the tournament.

The Swedish team was also hindered by the loss of Oskar Sundqvist, who left the game with a knee injury after a foul by Swiss forward Timo Meier.

Despite the challenges, Sweden's head coach, Sam Hallam, remained optimistic, saying that the team would learn from its mistakes and move forward.
